Two teenage boys have confessed to killing a partially-sighted grandmother when they mugged her for ‘a small amount of money’.
The 15-year-olds knocked 85-year-old Paula Castle to the ground as they stole her handbag in an alleyway.
She died from her head injuries the following day in hospital.
Both boys have now admitted manslaughter at the start of their Old Bailey trial.
They had been charged with murder but their guilty manslaughter pleas were accepted instead.
Mrs Castle, who was registered blind and lived alone, was attacked and robbed in Greenford, west London, on November 19 last year.
Andrew Edis, prosecuting, said: ‘This is a grave case.
